Description

Vision of the Holy Grail, angels

Vision of the Holy Grail, Angels tapestry is a detail of the first of the six Holy Grail tapestries designed by Sir Edward Burne-Jones in 1890 and woven by Morris & Co at Merton Abbey for display at Stanmore Hall, Middlesex. William Morris designed the heraldry and John Henry Dearle the backgrounds, leaving Burne-Jones to complete the figures in his peerless style. These were also called the San Graal tapestries and here we see the attainment of the knights quest. It is in the Birmingham City Museum. This first in the series is called The Attainment tapestry sometimes referred to as The Achievement tapestry.

This Sans Graal tapestry is finely woven in France in rayon and acrylic and is lined, with a rod pocket for easy hanging.

The Vision of the Holy Grail, Angels tapestry is available in two sizes but please note that the weaver has discontinued it although we have stocks.
27″x24″ US$165 and 53″x41″ US$595.
