My Sweet Rose

My Sweet Rose, also called The Soul of the Rose, was painted by John William Waterhouse (1849-1917) in 1908 and is now woven as a French tapestry wall-hanging.

Waterhouse drew on a variety of styles though is generally considered a Pre-Raphaelite painter. This is one of several Waterhouse tapestries, woven in France in 76% cotton and 10% acrylic and it is lined, with a rod pocket for hanging.
