Love and the Maiden tapestry is from an 1877 tempera painting by John Roddam Spencer Stanhope (1829-1908). This Pre-Raphaelite tapestry also shows the influence upon Stanhope of Edward Burne-Jones and of the Aesthetic Movement.
Stanhope’s tapestry is woven in Belgium in 56% cotton, 25% acrylic, 14% wool, 5% polyester, 4% viscose, is lined with a rod pocket for hanging. We supply instructions for easy tapestry wall-hanging with every order.
