Knights of the Round Table Summons tapestry
Knights of the Round Table Summons tapestry or Knights of the Round Table Summoned to the Quest tapestry by the Strange Damsel – the first tapestry in the Quest for the Holy Grail tapestries series designed by Sir Edward Burne-Jones for Stanmore Hall and woven by Morris & Co at Merton Abbey. The series was based on the 15th century tale Le Morte D’Arthur by Sir Thomas Malory. They were also called the San Graal tapestries and were originally woven in wool and silk on a cotton warp. They are now at the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery. Like all our Arts and Crafts tapestries this is finely woven in France in rayon, acrylic and viscose and it is lined, with a rod pocket for easy hanging.
The Knights of the Round Table Summons tapestry is now available in one size. You can view this tapestry in the gallery of room settings.
