Charity tapestry

Charity tapestry is one of the figures from the Faith, Hope, Charity stained glass window at St Martin’s Church, Brampton in Cumbria. It was designed by John Henry Dearle in 1886 and made by Morris & Co for this new church designed by Philip Webb. (Charity being the Caritas portion of Spes, Caritas, Fides.) The tapestry is woven in France in a fine weave of 50% wool and 50% cotton, and is lined, with a rod pocket for easy hanging.
