Black Tree of Life tapestry
The Black Tree of Life tapestry is one of three colourings for this most popular design of Arts and Crafts wall tapestries. It was designed by William Morris for Morris & Co in the late 19th century. We can see the influence of the medieval Mille Fleurs (thousand flowers) elements and the fine detailing of Morris is clearly apparent. This version has a black background, compared to the more familiar blue Tree of Life.
This Belgian tapestry is woven in 86% cotton, 8% polyamide and 6% polyester. It is fully is lined with a rod pocket – we supply instructions for easy tapestry wall-hanging with every order.
